With RRSP season upon us once again, we take this opportunity to remind you of some important HUB Capital policies and procedures, as well as provide some helpful tips and best practices to help you have a successful and compliant RRSP season, and year.
We have updated our HUB Best Practices Guide to reflect some of the changes that we have made to our policies and procedures this past year, including those changes involving Client Focused Reforms.
This guide includes important information to assist you with processing your business efficiently, while also helping you to avoid unnecessary deficiencies or trade delays. One new feature this year, is that the guide includes a Table of Contents which allows you to click on a topic and go directly to the information provided.
Please note: as noted in the guide, the Temporary COVID Exceptions have now ended. Please refer to Bulletin #2022-03 – End of COVID Temporary Measures for more details.
We are also pleased to provide you with a new tool, specifically focused on Client Focused Reforms. Included with this bulletin is the Mutual Fund Compliance Requirements – Representative CFR Responsibilities checklist. This form provides a list of the changes brought into effect by Client Focused Reforms, including details on the requirements associated with each change. It also provides a ‘Risk Assessment Check’ for each requirement, with a list of questions that you can ask yourself to ensure that you are meeting all of our obligations with regards to Client Focused Reforms.
Please invest the time to review both the guide and checklist as soon as possible. We also encourage you to keep a copy at your fingertips, to use as reference on a daily basis. Our goal in producing these guides it to give you more time to dedicate to building and protecting your business throughout the year!
If you have any questions please contact your Regional Compliance Officer.
