The Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) made changes which require updates to your AML program. The changes to the day-to-day advisor practices aren’t extensive but your awareness and reflection of these changes in your written program are required.

Canada Life has updated their AML compliance program template to reflect these changes and is now available in HUBLINK. The program is designed to suit most advisor practices with customization tips in the margin for consideration. A Step-by-step guide to completing your AML program is also available and a “how to complete your program” training video is available to advisors in Canada Life’s WorkSpace.

Adopt, review, and customize the program for your practice. This will help to ensure your practice’s compliance programs are up-to-date and will also meet your 2-year program review obligation.

Be sure to keep a copy of your existing programs for your records!
